Greens getting bagged
Stephen Scahill has already gone on record bagging the greens as having too much slope to them, especially with the amount of wind the players are being subjected to this week.

The general consensus amongst all the top pros is that the course from tee to green is very good, but the greens are being described as brutal and scary. Even without the wind the greens are simply roller coasters which is going to see a lot of high scores this week.

No crowds this week
Its feared that the NZ Open won't pull the crowds this week. Crowds at the Pro Am on Wednesday were almost non existent. A total of four people and a dog followed Billy Mayfair around today. When you consider they are rumored to have spent close to $100,000 getting Billy out to NZ, you have to ask whether the money was well spent?

Crowds are expected to be down as the public has had their fix at the World Cup at Gulf Harbour recently. This weeks event also clashes with the Equestrian 3 Day event at Auckland Airport as well as the Presidents Cup in Melbourne which will encourage people to sit at home and watch the telly.

Billy Mayfair
Billy Mayfair installed as the early favourite, looked in good form during the Pro Am, Billy and his wife have just spent a few days relaxing in NZ which included a bit of whale watching.

Check out his playing record here.
